In case of fever, when should Dengue be suspected ?

There are many causes of fever, but certain features arise suspicioun of Dengue. 

If fever is accompanied by any of the following features, Dengue should be ruled out: 

  • Sudden onset of high fever (103 to 105 degree F. 
  • Severe headache (mostly in the forehead), pain behind the eyes, body aches and pains.
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Rash on the skin.

All these features may not be present in all the patients.
