Once you make a decision, you only need a commitment and perseverance to continue your direction. 

This principle applies for patients as well. There are a lot of illnesses that require the patient to first accept the fact, to face the reality that they have the disease. Once the acceptance is there, next is the decision to get back health. And then a strong commitment and will-power to continue the path towards healthy life.
