UACR, ACR, Albumin to creatinine ratio, Urine albumin creatinine ratio, Urine protein creatinine ratio
This lab test known as Urine Albumin Creatinine Ratio (ACR) is a urine test to measure how much albumin (a type of protein) is excreted in your urine. Usually protein should not be present in urine and presence of albumin (protein) in your urine means that kidneys are now functioning properly and can be an early sign of kidney problems. If your urine test for protein comes "positive" (or high) the test should be repeated to confirm the results. Three positive results over a period of three months or more mean that you have a kidney disease.
